We invite certified Yoga teachers to join us in learning how to design and teach a Yoga Therapy class to cancer patients and survivors in a safe and therapeutic environment.

In this training you will learn:

*Yoga postures appropriate for survivors of all types of cancer and their therapeutic advantages, contraindications, and modifications
*The science and physiology of cancer, its treatments and side effects, and how yoga can help to reduce pain, build muscle mass and bone, and foster a healthy lifestyle while undergoing chemotherapy, surgeries and/or radiation;
*Develop and lead classes compassionately and competently to improve balance, flexibility, and strength and to relieve stress, anxiety and pain that is often associated with cancer.

TRAINING HOURS:

Friday, October 19: 6:30pm-9:30pm
Sat & Sunday, October 20 and 21: 9am-5pm

Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion that may be applied toward Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Units (CEUs): 20 total CEUs, including 19-contact CEUs.
