In yoga, the concept of koshas, which means “sheaths” or “layers,” offers an elegant framework for understanding the fullness of the human experience. These five koshas represent the different aspects of our being—from the outer, physical form to the deepest state of bliss and inner contentment. They illustrate the multidimensional nature of who we are, and how each layer needs care in order to lead a balanced, harmonious life.
